Who is Eligible?

  • Australian citizen or permanent resident aged 18 or over

  • A genuine first home buyer — or someone who has not owned property in Australia in the last ten years

  • Purchasing a property at or below the location specific price cap for your area

  • Intending to live in the property as an owner occupier — the scheme is not available for investment properties

  • Applying for a principal and interest loan through a participating lender

  • You can apply individually or jointly with up to one other person including a friend, sibling or partner

Single parents and single legal guardians may be eligible to access the scheme with a minimum deposit of just 2% under the Family Home Guarantee.
