Local mortgage advice for Castaways Beach, without the jargon
Jeane Hofmeyr and The Broker Society team help Castaways Beach buyers, upgraders, investors and self-employed locals find lending that actually fits their life on the coast.
Make an AppointmentCastaways Beach lending, handled by someone who knows the area
Jeane Hofmeyr works with buyers and owners across Castaways Beach and the wider Northern Sunshine Coast, from Marcus Beach through to Peregian and Sunshine Beach. Whether you're purchasing your first home near the national park, moving into your next home closer to the beach, or looking at refinancing a loan you've outgrown, Jeane walks you through the numbers in plain language.
For locals building a portfolio, Jeane arranges investment loans and, where circumstances call for it, low doc home loans. Castaways Beach has a strong contingent of business owners and tradespeople, and Jeane's own background as a self-employed broker means self employed home loans are a genuine specialty, alongside SMSF lending and commercial lending for local operators.
If life has gotten a little tangled, Jeane can talk through The Reset for debt consolidation. If you're building, she'll guide you through The New Build lending, and if you need to buy before you sell, bridging finance can hold everything together. For retirees looking to free up equity from a long-held beachfront property, Jeane also arranges reverse mortgages.
Jeane doesn't work in isolation. She's backed by the wider Broker Society team, five self-employed brokers with over fifty years of combined experience between them, so whatever question you bring, there's always someone who's seen it before.
A conversation first, paperwork second
Your first chat with Jeane can happen face to face at a local cafe, or online with screen sharing so you can see exactly how the numbers and visuals stack up in real time. There's no script and no pressure, just a straightforward look at what's possible before anything is put in writing.
A small stretch of coast that punches above its weight
Castaways Beach sits quietly between Marcus Beach and Peregian, tucked against the edge of Noosa National Park with the sound of the surf never far away. It's a suburb that draws a particular kind of buyer: people who've done the sums on Noosa proper and realised Castaways gives them the same coastline and bushland without the same price tag, plus a shorter walk to the sand than most of Sunshine Beach.
Jeane sees a real mix come through her diary from this pocket of the coast. There are young families finally able to buy in near the national park after years of renting closer to Brisbane. There are tradies and small business owners who've built their trade around the Sunshine Coast building boom and need a broker who understands irregular income rather than penalising it. And there are retirees, some who bought here decades ago when it was still considered a hidden pocket, now looking at how to unlock equity without selling up and leaving the street they raised their kids on.
What Jeane hears most from Castaways Beach clients is that they want someone who'll return a call the same day and explain things without the industry jargon. Having settled in Australia herself after years overseas, Jeane understands what it's like to navigate an unfamiliar system, which is part of why so many local expat families end up in her diary too, sometimes with appointments run in Afrikaans.
The Humans Behind The Society
Five self-employed brokers, one shared belief that lending should be explained properly the first time. Say hello whenever suits you.

Jeane Hofmeyr
Before she was a broker, Jeane was a pharmacist in South Africa, then spent years travelling with her accountant husband before the pair eventually settled on the Sunshine Coast. That mix of clinical precision and a genuine love of numbers followed her straight into broking, where she's worked since 2022 helping clients across the Northern Sunshine Coast, from Marcus Beach through Castaways Beach and beyond.
Jeane is a mum to twins, a keen runner, and rarely far from the beach herself, which makes Castaways Beach feel less like a work postcode and more like home turf. She offers appointments in Afrikaans for the coast's South African community, and has a particular gift for helping newer arrivals to Australia make sense of a lending system that can feel completely foreign at first.
Jeane is one of five self-employed brokers at The Broker Society, a team with more than fifty years of combined lending experience. If Jeane is ever unavailable, you're still in good hands with a colleague who can pick up exactly where she left off.
"A good loan should feel like a well-fitted wetsuit. Snug enough to work, loose enough to breathe."
